A Chatfield driller standing on the red track-mounted rig on a graded job site

PROJECT GALLERY · PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE FIELD

Photographs from Chatfield jobs across Western Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio: the rigs where they work, a farm well going in beside the barn, a pressure tank set in a basement, and the truck the company started with. All of them are ours, and none of them are generated.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

Seven Frames
from the Field.

Each one links to the page that explains the work in it.

WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT

Two Rigs, One Truck,
and a Tank.

The rigs are the drilling side of the company: a track-mounted rig that can be walked onto a lot before there is a driveway, and truck-mounted rigs that set up on the road or the farm lane. Which one comes, and whether it drills with air rotary or cable tool, depends on the ground under the property, as how well drilling works explains. The Geoprobe beside the box truck is the small rig for soil borings, monitoring wells, and sampling, the work engineers and site owners hire us for.

The tank is the water-systems side: a pressure tank set and plumbed in a basement, the part of a well system most homeowners meet only when it fails. And the black-and-white truck is the company before any of that, Chatfield Well Drilling with the phone number on the door. Our story picks it up from there.

Photographs of your own job are welcome, and so is a review. The crews read both. If you are planning a well or looking at a tank like that one, tell us about it.
